There are many options to care for a pet when you are not able to for a time. Easdale offers the best in pet care while keeping your life a bit less complicated! What are some of the reasons that pets are boarded? For many reasons, many of which you might not expect! Naturally, there can be nearly as many reasons as there are pets, but here are a few:

Travel for vacation or business;
Work on the house such as refinishing wood floors, pest exterminators, additions and repair of fire damage, or any workmen in the house;
House guests who do not like the family pet or pets that do not like the guests;
Recently moved to a new town and still closing on the new home;
Showing a home on the real estate market; or
Hospital stays for the owner’s health or a new baby in the family.

When surveyed, pet owners revealed fears that their pet would be depressed, get sick, or run away among other concerns. Care for pets is a major trust issue! What’s wrong with having a well-intentioned neighbor, friend or relative care for your family pet?

1. Lack of secure fencing or exercise space to avoid escapes;

2. Lack of pet health knowledge to observe and identify health issues early. Contact info must be collected and available to arrange for medical care as needed and ability to administer medications correctly;

3. Interactions of your pet with any pets that they own; how will feeding, toys, and play be managed to avoid aggression? What if there is a fight? Who would pay for the vet?

4. Liability issues–if your pet should cause property damage or bites someone in their home or neighborhood, what happens? You are considered the responsible party through ownership even though you were not there!

5. Creating personal issues–imposing an unwanted obligation and owing compensation to the amateur care giver in favors or other unspecified debts. Torn upholstery, stained carpets, and scratched woodwork just begins the list of possible damages. You are risking damaged relationships with the people in your life and complicating how favors are returned or valued.

Even better, we won’t allow them to get into any alcoholic drinks or rich unfamiliar foods. Easdale will not be hosting a fireworks display or invade their personal space with a houseful of guests! Meals will be served on time and you can even prepackage them with exactly the number and type of treats that you would have dished up at home. Your furbaby’s stay with us is a calmer, more relaxing holiday. At the end of our time together, bathing, nail trims, de-shedding, and grooming are all available on the way home.

After all that, the cost for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and to the first business day after the holiday for pick up is such a huge bargain compared to babysitters!
